Sideways energy is anything that moves you away from your vision. It is the great momentum killer because it slows progress, pulling our attention away from the main objective. Often, team members engage in activities that do little to propel the office forward. People are working. Busyness is occurring. But little movement is experienced. This is what we refer to as sideways energy.

The best strategy to compensate for the challenging realities of recruiting, hiring, building, and maintaining an outstanding team is to increase staff longevity. In this webinar, orthodontists will learn the skills necessary to increase staff longevity by identifying and examining the common frustrations experienced by the orthodontic team both individually and as a group.

The “it’s not my job” attitude is more than just an employee career killer; it’s a symptom of a much larger organizational problem. Team members who simply do their jobs and nothing more do not contribute to practice growth. If they don’t take the initiative by seeking out new projects and looking for opportunities to share their ideas and suggestions, a practice and team can become ensnared in old ways of doing things.
We will discuss ways a team can create an environment where initiative is encouraged and appreciated by empowering employees and rewarding them for their efforts.
The financial coordinator role is a role designed for those who are tenacious and desire to see the fruits of their labor come to fruition. They are the money makers and those who do this well can really generate great profitability for the practice! We will discuss when to divide out the financial coordinator role into a split role involving an insurance coordinator, train on what the metrics are telling us versus going on feelings, and divulge a few tips and tricks to maximize your success.
Every orthodontist has a list of patients who left their practice without making a decision and have not responded to follow-up attempts by the treatment coordinator. This leaves you uncertain about who is still interested and who has moved on.
In reality, this segment of your pending exams increases by the month and therefore represents hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional production for a practice. However, without knowing who is still interested, most practices mistakenly accept the silence as a lack of interest.
On this webinar you’ll learn:
Unscheduled or past due observation patients typically occur for two reasons: inconsistent follow up and a failure to build a strong sense of perceived value in these appointments. Having a strong and consistent observation follow-up protocol supported by the many Edge Cloud and ViewPoint observation tools and reports can ensure you don't lose sight of these incredibly valuable patients. In addition to careful follow up, Natalie believes that you set your observation program up for success or failure by how you educate parents about the value of these visits when you first discuss it at the NP.
We will review everything from scripting and an observation handout sheet at the NP exam, through careful review of specific reports and software tools so that no observation patient slips through the cracks, and finally, a consistent step-by-step outline of how to build perceived value in these visits at the new patient exam to keep them coming! Natalie will share everything you need to have a highly successful observation program for your specific practice.
