Practice, Practice, and Practice: A Team Practice Approach to Effective and Consistent Conflict Resolution

We all know when it happens. You are having a perfectly good orthodontic day when, suddenly, you glance over, and two team members are having a challenging time with each other. Then, just as suddenly, the conflict begins quickly seeping through the practice. There is a raised eyebrow, a downturned mouth, a frustrated stomp out of the clinic, and somehow, it has affected everyone. The patients/parents in the clinic feel it as much as the team. This is certainly not where you want to go in terms of excellent patient experiences or outstanding work environment. There must be a better way, and there is! Since conflict is inevitable, everyone needs to practice and finetune their toolbox of solutions so that any conflict can be spotted and any flames quickly put out.

Natalie Beaton will begin by sharing a team meeting agenda to discuss the current common causes of office conflict, and her team approach to team conflict resolution. She will review the team survey that that she developed and that you can use to prepare for a meeting to begin discussion of putting out any office conflict fire. This survey will help your team identify what is working in your office, what is not working well, how conflict is typically addressed currently, and how each member of the team best resolves their own conflicts and best learns fresh solutions to problems at work. She will give you the steps needed to design a team conflict resolution agreement that will help the entire orthodontic team commit to working towards a more positive work environment.

Once your team has designed the conflict resolution agreement you can confidently begin taking 10 to 15 minutes of your monthly meeting to practice role playing common conflicts and real solutions that work for your specific team. Practicing both conflict resolution skills and new scripting will quickly and effectively provide the skills needed to put out conflict fires before they start.

Dr. Roger P. Levin
Dr. Roger Levin - How Will the Economy Affect Your Practice?

Orthodontics can be highly affected by the current economic conditions. Today’s U.S. economy has a high level of uncertainty. No one knows exactly what direction it will take. If the economy were to dip, orthodontic practices will notice an almost immediate decrease in the number of referrals and starts just as occurred in the Great Recession of 2007–2008. This is a result of the public’s view that orthodontics is a commodity that can be put off or never purchased.

This webinar will focus on key strategies to keep an orthodontic practice successful and growing in the face of economic uncertainty. Using several contemporary case studies, Dr. Roger Levin will provide practical strategies for overcoming the mix of economic challenges facing orthodontists (and their patients) – higher expenses, inflation, supply chain challenges, and possible tariffs. Practices that prepare in advance will be the ones that are able to take advantage of opportunities and increase referrals and starts even in the face of economic change.

Objectives:

  1. Understand how broad economic trends can directly (and quickly) affect orthodontic practices and how to identify early indicators requiring action.
  2. Learn and implement strategies that will immediately increase orthodontic practice production and starts during periods of economic uncertainty.
  3. Identify early warning signs of practice slowdown, such as fewer referrals or reduced case acceptance, and understand the role of the orthodontist and team in implementing improved systems designed specifically to minimize potential negative impacts on production.

By the end of the session, you’ll have actionable strategies to make your practice stand out in a crowded market—earning the trust of parents, sparking interest from teens, and creating loyal patients for years to come.

Eric Romingquet
Eric Romingquet - How To Turn What Most Doctors Write Off Into Recurring Revenue

Non-responsive exams. Silent patients. Missed starts. Forgotten follow-ups. They’re not gone — they’re just waiting for the right approach. Every private practice has them: patients who came in for their exam and consult, left without a decision, and never responded again.

Most teams follow up once, maybe twice. When there’s no reply, they move on — not because they want to, but because they don’t have a real playbook for what to do next. But this is the exact fork in the road that determines whether those patients become permanent losses or future revenue.

In this webinar, we’ll walk you through a proven, real-world process to take control of your non-responsive pending exams — and show you how to turn them into a consistent, reliable stream of recurring revenue.
